An unbiased review of Plexus  Back when I wrote this original review, Plexus was using incredibly dangerous stimulants linked to serious side effects. I will never recommend  meal replacements, processed food, artificial sweeteners or any other junk that’s…

Week In Review

This past weekend was my birthday weekend and Scott surprised me with an overnight stay at The Park Hyatt. We love going to hotels near our house because we can just Uber over quickly and there’s no long drive home. When we got there, they upgraded us to a suite since it was my birthday and offered to bring us a free bottle of wine. SCORE. Hey may look high, but believe it or not, this guy has never smoked a joint in his life. Even though it may look like it here. They bathroom was the size of the first room I ever rented and had a huge tub. LUXURIOUS. Yeah, that’s a bottle of Serenity for my bath. So, so relaxing. Shortly after arriving at the room, Scott surprised me with a MASSAGE. Not from him. A professional. She came up to the room with all of her…

Everyday I’m Hustlin’: A Review of One Year In Business

I officially left my job on January 17th, 2014. I had technically started my business before then, but didn’t have the time to commit to it that I wanted. I had no idea if my website could make money, if I’d fall on my face, or even if I could come up with enough revenue streams to make Ancestral Nutrition a viable financial option. I just knew that I hated my current job and wanted to turn my passion into my full time job. I wanted to do something I enjoyed. I wanted to help people. I want to be my own boss. I wanted to work from home. I wanted to have that freedom. So I left. In the months leading up to my resignation, I spent a lot of nights crying to Scott. I hated my job. People were rude, arrogant and had no sense of humor. I…

Before it’s asked, this is the protein I use and recommend. I couldn’t find one good enough on the market, so I made my own. Grass-fed collagen with six organic superfoods: kale, spirulina, wheatgrass, broccoli, spinach and turmeric. I drink it in my daily smoothies and it gives me LIFE. Aka a healthy gut, glowing skin, strong digestion and energy for DAYS. Use code 10OFF for 10% off! Juice Plus Review – this is what you need to know before signing up for that membership! While you guys probably already know that I’m not a fan of meal replacement shakes (Herbalife, Isagenix, Beachbody, Advocare, Shakeology), you may not know that I am a fan of supplements. Don’t get…

An Unbiased Review of Beachbody

I’ve done several reviews of different proteins and meal replacement shakes and each time, my bias is called into question. Let me make this clear. I have no vested interest in the outcome of whether or not you purchase Beachbody, or any other protein supplement. With the exception of the fact that I think it’s environmentally and sustainably irresponsible to support a company that uses GMOs in their products, not to mention that they do a number to human health. It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of meal replacement shakes. There is no meal replacement shake that can take the place of real, unprocessed, organic food. I know that many companies have their distributors convinced that we can’t obtain all of our nutrients from food and that we are so toxic that meal replacement shakes are necessary. This is only true to an extent, and this is where marketing…

An Unbiased Review of Shakeology

After writing my reviews of Herbalife, Isagenix, and Advocare, the next protein/meal replacement shake I’m asked about most is Shakeology. Keep reading for an unbiased review of Shakeology! I find that in lieu of actually putting time and energy into one’s own health, some people would rather drink a protein shake they think is the end-all-be-all to nutrition and call it a day. Except it doesn’t work like that. Shakeology is a company that touts its products as superfoods, the best nutrition available, and as a safe, healthy and effective way to lose weight. Is this true? Well, not exactly. Aka…

An Unbiased Review of Advocare

Way back when I wrote my review of Herbalife, I had no idea it would garner the attention that it did. After Herbalife, I reviewed Isagenix because I received so many emails asking me about the quality of the products. Today, after receiving yet another review request for Advocare, here it is. First of all, I do not advocate meal replacement shakes in general. The basis of my nutrition coaching is not about shortcuts. It’s not about drinks that help you become “trim,” and it’s not about sketchy protein bars. Aka a healthy gut, glowing skin, strong digestion and energy…

An Unbiased Review of Isagenix

Planning on starting the Isagenix diet? Read this unbiased Isagenix review, in which I take a close look at the Isagenix diet, its side effects and ingredients, and learn whether it’s a safe way to lose weight or just another fad diet. This Isagenix Review was UPDATED IN DECEMBER 2017 – and it’s even worse than I previously thought After my post on Herbalife and how unhealthy their products are, I got a lot of questions about Isagenix and whether I could write an Isagenix review. So here we go. Aka a healthy gut, glowing skin, strong digestion and energy…
