Smoothie Packs

Lately, I’ve been all about making smoothies. Don’t get me wrong – not the smoothies that contain a shit ton of sugar (even if it’s from fruit, three cups of fruit is way too much). Not low fat smoothies either. If you’re not consuming fat with your smoothies, you’re not absorbing the fat-soluble vitamins. I love a good smoothie. The smoothies I’m making are a great way to get extra veggies into your diet. They actually make an awesome snack. I add chlorella, bentonite and diatomaceous earth because I’m planning on getting knocked up in the not so distant future and these are extremely detoxifying. The chlorella removes mercury while the bentonite and diatomaceous earth remove harmful bacteria, yeast, and toxins. Lastly, I also add gelatin, because it’s awesome for the gut, your bones, skin, and cartilage. When I’m in the mood for a smoothie or just want a snack,…

Paleo Buffalo Chicken Deviled Eggs

I used to hate buffalo wing sauce. I did NOT understand why people liked it. Or buffalo wings. I like wings, like garlic wings and Asian wings, but not buffalo wings. Until recently. Something changed. My husband loves buffalo sauce and add it to almost anything. And I started trying it. I ate it more and more. And now I really like it. I still haven’t had buffalo wings, but I had leftover chicken from cooking a whole chicken (I do this weekly and make broth with the carcass). These eggs were SO good. Perfect for the upcoming spring and summer cookouts!

Ten Minute Greek Salad

Originally, Scott and I wanted to go to Greece for our honeymoon. But after weighing the pros and cons (read: the million hour flight to get there and both of us needing to get back to work) we decided to stay a bit more local to the US. Don’t get me wrong, our honeymoon was ridiculously amazing, but I’m hoping we can still get to Greece someday. The food, the people, the architecture, the beautiful beaches and especially all that delicious food, really draws me to Greece. I especially love that they have such amazing food that is still healthy. Fresh seafood and veggies, delicious local cheeses, amazing wines and everything is cooked in Greek olive oil. I can’t wait to get there someday. In the meantime, I’ll have to settle for making Greek recipes. I came across some real Greek feta, from Greece, with Greek writing on it and…

Organic Ranch Mushrooms

When I was a kid, my parents would order pizza with mushrooms. Always. They didn’t care that I hated mushrooms, I had to pick them off. I guess I don’t blame them. Mushrooms are delicious. It’s one of those foods that I absolutely loathed as a kid. I thought they tasted awful and were slimy. Now I can’t get enough and I get mad if they skimp on the ‘shrooms when I order a (gluten-free) pizza. I also love ranch dressing (seriously, who doesn’t). Except, most ranch dressing ingredients look like this: Yeah, not something I’m willing to eat. So I had to come up with an alternative to ranch mushrooms, because most recipes call for adding ranch dressing to mushrooms and that wasn’t happening. So here is my recipe for organic ranch mushrooms. Organic Ranch Mushrooms These organic Ranch Mushrooms make for the best healthy side for steaks or grilled chicken! Easy to make…

Superfood + Paleo Shamrock Shake

I’ve been trying to incorporate more veggies into my diet to hit nine cups a day. Nine cups of veggies is a lot. It’s tough to get that much plant matter. My jaw would hurt from chewing it all. So lately I’ve been making smoothies. And I kind of hated smoothies before, but I now realize that’s because most of them are made with a shit ton of fruit, which is just way too much sugar, especially for me. I’ve been making low sugar smoothies and it not only ensures I’m getting a lot of veggies at once, they actually taste good. Turns out you don’t need a ton of sugar or fruit to make a tasty smoothie. This shake is upped to superfood status not because of the spinach, but because of the egg yolks and gelatin. Egg yolks are an incredibly nutrient dense food, rich in choline, omega 3s…

Paleo Mexican Egg Muffins

I’m a big fan of making food in bulk on Sundays so that we have food throughout the week. I eat these for breakfast but more often than not I end up eating them post-workout or as a snack. They’re SO good. If you don’t like to set your face on fire like I do, you don’t have to use a whole jalapeño. I always urge my clients to prepare food in advance, it makes it much less likely that you’ll reach for something unhealthy when you don’t feel like cooking or are short for time. These egg muffins are a great, healthy option because they’re filled with protein, healthy fats and a bunch of veggies. Paleo Mexican Egg Muffins These paleo egg muffins are a great, healthy option because they’re filled with protein, healthy fats and a bunch of veggies. 4 eggs1/4 onion (diced)1/4 yellow pepper (diced)1 small jalapeno…

Detox Salad

To be truthful, before I made this salad I thought there was a good chance it would taste like sh*t. Detox salad? It even sounds like it tastes bad. Detoxes aren’t fun, they don’t taste good, and more often than not they’re boring as f*ck. And let’s review the major ingredients: broccoli cabbage cauliflower It’s basically a small child’s nightmare. But, I was determined to make it taste good. Don’t get me wrong, I love cauliflower, broccoli, and cabbage. But I usually cook them individually, with a lot of butter. If you’re wondering why I would even attempt to make a raw broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower salad taste good, or make a detox salad in the first place, it’s because I’m trying to eat more cruciferous veggies. They’re packed with nutrients and you guessed it – they help you detox. And promotes, you know, regularity. As a health coach, I…

Paleo BLT Wraps

I looove BLTs. I also love mayo. I know some people hate mayo, and I tend to agree when it’s that gross mayo made with GMO vegetable oils. But homemade mayo is where it’s at. It’s got all that creaminess and is rich in fat soluble vitamins (A, E, D and K – plus choline which is great if you’re preggo). I can’t take credit for making the wrap, but since I bought (eight packages) of them, I’ve fallen in love. They’re made with super healthy ingredients (click the link below to see) and don’t fall apart like other paleo wraps I’ve tried. Paleo BLT Wraps These are hands down the best paleo wraps out there – filled with pastured bacon, homemade mayonnaise and tomatoes! The perfect office lunch! 1 pure wrap (see notes)1 tbsp homemade mayo1-2 pieces pastured bacon3 tomato slices (small)iceberg lettuce Make the mayo. It’s actually incredibly easy…

20 Paleo Travel Snacks

I really love traveling. Even if it’s just to the beach three hours away. There’s something about hopping in the car with a bunch of snacks, rolling down the windows and blasting music. It’s the best thing ever and I honestly thing it’s half the fun of traveling. I even like going to the airport. I love picking up food magazines and flying and ordering a glass of wine on the plane and looking out the window. It’s the best. What’s not the best: airport and gas station food. Fast food. I literally always bring snacks when we’re traveling, even if it’s just an hour road trip. I’d rather have snacks on hand than needing to pull over for a drink or because I’m starving. Not to mention the fact that it’s way cheaper to pack your own snacks than buy them. Here are some of my faves. Smoked oysters…

No Bake Paleo Blueberry “Cheese”cake

This is a recipe from my upcoming Kindle book on how and what to eat for healthy skin, beautiful hair and radiant health. It’s not about giving up desserts or your favorite foods, it’s just about making them healthier. Also, the book is only going to be $2.99 so that everyone can afford it. If you don’t buy it, our friendship is over. Sign up for my newsletter to find out when the book is released! I’ve always loved this blueberry pie from a nearby restaurant when I was growing up. It was loaded with sugar and inorganic dairy, and a gluten-filled crust to top it off. So when I saw blueberries at the farmers market, I jumped at the chance to make a healthier version. And ya know what? It was pretty damn good. Paleo Blueberry Cheesecake This paleo blueberry cheesecake is SO simple to make! It’s an easy…
