Lamb is easily one of my favorite meats. Lamb shank is one of my favorite ways to enjoy it.

It’s not only incredibly healthy. Lamb shank is also reasonably priced and tastes awesome. I love lamb, and every time I say that I think of this guy:

Delicious Slow Cooker Lamb Shank! I'm going to eat this slow cooker lamb shank several times a month. So many nutrients!

Lamb isn’t just a great source of protein but is also high in omega-3s, B12, CLA, selenium, B3, and zinc. It’s a particularly great protein if you’re planning on getting knocked up (which I am) or if you’re already knocked up. I now plan on eating this slow cooker lamb shank several times a month. So many nutrients!

  1. Hi. I just pinned this recipe, it sounds good! However, do we really cook on “high” for 8 hours? All other crock pot lamb recipes I’ve seen cook it on low for 8 hours. Just wondering if this is correct. 🙂

I did cook on high for 8 hours, you can do less. I used an old crockpot that doesn’t get as hot as the newer ones.

      • Thanks! I have a new crockpot and gave it a whirl on low for 8 hours and it came out perfectly! Very yummy! I’m going to make this recipe again. 🙂

  2. I cooked it on high for 8 hours with a new crockpot because I sadly didn’t read the comments before. The lamb was overdone but really good for over done. I will try it again on a lower setting.

Oh good! And so sorry about that. Changing directions now.

  3. I can’t have tomatoes or tomato sauce. Any suggestions on a replacement?
