*THERE IS A TYPO IN THIS PICTURE. IT’S SUPPOSED TO SAY “BASIL MARINATED SALMON WITH BASIL SALAD DRESSING.” I’M LEAVING IT AS IT BECAUSE I THINK IT’S FUNNY.

Yesterday I posted a recipe for basil dressing and marinade. Today I’ll show you how I like to use it. The dressing doubles as a marinade and is perfect for fish, chicken and shrimp (it’s also good drizzle over steak). I placed a piece of salmon in tin foil, poured on some basil dressing and marinated it for about an hour. I then placed it in the oven for about 12 minutes on 400. It was awesome. I also served it with salad (with basil dressing). And a half of an avocado…drizzles with basil dressing. I could bathe in basil. Which is good because basil has been shown to:

  • have anti bacterial properties
  • be high in vitamin K
  • reduce inflammation
  • soothe the stomach
  • have anti inflammatory properties
  • promote cardiovascular health
