I want to share some my honest opinion on Beautycounter products, the best and worst of Beautycounter makeup. Sometimes it can be hard to get a person’s true opinion on the products they’re slinging. It’s almost as if people think if they say they don’t like one product, they’re disparaging the entire line.

Listen, we’re all different, with different skin types, needs and desires. When I first started buying Beautycounter products, I loved some and I didn’t love others. In fact I thought some were really bad.

It’s aways my goal to be completely honest and transparent with you guys, so today I’m going to share the best and worst of Beautycounter makeup. What I thought made me look like a glowing goddess…and what sucked.

Let’s start with my favorites.

Eyeshadow Palettes

Beautycounter has several eye shadow palettes and they’re all great. I actually much prefer to use the darker colors as eyeliner with an eyeliner brush. I find it more precise and it lasts longer. The shadows go on incredibly smooth and have great lasting power.

Blush

Blush! This provides such a nice glow. Nectar is my favorite and is similar to the Nars blush in Orgasm. There are variety of colors for every skin tone. It has lasting power and provides such beautiful color to the face.

Overnight Resurfacing Peel

The Overnight Resurfacing Peel is my #1 favorite Beautycounter product. It really has helped transform my skin. I tend to get bumps across my forehead and very congested skin and I need acids to combat that. Even though I make and love my own line of skincare, I do not play around with acids. This is exactly what my skincare regimen needs. Also great for aging and sun spots!

Bronzer

I always use a bronzer, especially in winter. It helps contour the face and provide a nice, healthy glow. I tend to get super pale in winter and this helps brighten up my entire face. I love it!

Cream Blusher

I also really enjoy this cream blusher. It’s hydrating and comes in a few different colors. It goes on beautifully and adds nice color to the face.

Charcoal Mask

I use this charcoal mask twice a week. It might be my second favorite BC product. Like I said, my skin is prone to congestion and buildup of dead skin cells. I use this, follow it up with the peel, then Ancestral Organics Glow Serum and Clear Moisturizer. My skin is literally glowing in the morning – and so clear!

The Worst Beautycounter Products (In My Opinion)

Foundation

You guys, I cannot, even after trying it again, get down with the foundation or tinted SPF. The tinted SPF offers zero coverage for me. The foundation has slightly more coverage, but I feel like it highlights the flaws in my skin. Was not a fan. I use Jane Iredale foundation, which has great coverage and the little bottle seriously lasts me for 9 months.

Exfoliating Cream Cleanser

This cleanser was my absolute least favorite BC product I’ve tried. It did not exfoliate my skin. It didn’t even remove my makeup. When I’d get out of the shower and dry my face, all of my makeup would come off on the towel. That’s how little it would remove. I know others who love it, I am not one of them.

Mascara

Unfortunately I did not love the mascara. At first I liked it because it didn’t smudge, but I find both of them hard to apply and neither particularly lengthen or volumize. I barely look like I’m wearing mascara honestly, which honestly is sometimes a look I go for. So it’s not my least favorite, but I can see how others would not like it.

What are some of your favorite and least favorite Beautycounter products? Hope you appreciate my honesty!

  1. I think the thing to remember about the exfoliator is that is isn’t a cleanser. It’s a “Nourishing Cream Exfoliator”. So, it isn’t meant to cleanse. However, I find that for me it doesn’t have enough scrub to it and that my face needs something with more scrub in order for my skin to look better and makeup to perform better. I like the Acure Brightening scrub for its price point and scrub.

Have you tried their new Skin Twin foundation? I haven’t yet but it is supposedly better than Tint Skin. And yes, Dew Skin (tinted sunscreen) is meant to be a tinted sunscreen and not a foundation. It’s main purpose is not coverage. I like it but can’t use it every day as the natural sunscreen in it can be drying to my face.
