Sometimes, I really crave a salad.

I used to think it was really obnoxious when people said they craved salads. Or that people who ate salads constantly and loved them were obnoxious.

But really, I was so restrictive with my food, that I never craved healthy food. I craved fat and sugar because I wasn’t feeding my body properly. Now that I eat an adequate amount of protein, healthy fats and safe starches, I seriously never crave junk food. I’m naturally drawn to healthy foods and it’s awesome. It’s literally not a problem to say no to candy or cake or cookies. If I want any of these, I make them for myself and I don’t restrict it. But I politely decline the wheat and GMO sugar beet filled desserts, not only because they make me feel like shit, but because I geniunely have no desire to eat them.

So now I crave things like salads with a lot of jalapeno because I’m addicted to spicy food. It burns so good.

Simple Spicy Salad

This Simple Spicy Salad is perfect as it is but especially delicious when topped with some sauteed shrimp or chicken!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large tomato diced
  • 1/2 cucumber diced
  • 1 avocado chopped
  • 1 large jalapeno diced
  • 1/4 red onion diced
  • a drizzle of olive oil
  • Himalayan salt

Instructions
 

  • After chopping and dicing all ingredients, combine with a drizzle of olive oil and sea salt. Eat as a snack, as a side, or top with some sauteed shrimp.

Notes

Top with chicken, beef of shrimp for more protein.
