Listen, I know “detox” is a buzz word and if it annoys you – it probably annoys me more. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard women talk about doing a detox or a “cleanse.” Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with detoxes. In fact, I love ’em.

What I don’t love is the way most people go about detoxes. The water fasts. The juice fasts. The only-raw-veggie detox. The way most people basically go on starvation diets to “detox” their bodies. Yeah, that’s not really a detox. That’s just starving yourself and it ain’t a good idea. It can cause a hell of a lot of undesirable side effects.

So know that when I say detox, that is NOT what I’m talking about.

Especially for this challenge.

This challenge is easy, convenient and you don’t need ANYTHING to do it. Detoxing is more about what you don’t do that what you do do (insert six year-old poo joke here). Hopefully that makes sense to you. So for this seven day detox challenge, I’m going to send you daily tasks to help detox your life. All of them are super easy, do-able and barely take any time at all.

Now here’s why you should detox. Regularly.

We are the most toxic generation of people in history. Between the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat, we are bombarded with more toxins than ever before. And I didn’t even mention the body products we use and the cleaning products in our homes. Here are some common things we need to detox from:

  • plastics
  • pesticides
  • herbicides
  • fungicides
  • insecticides
  • GMOs
  • tobacco smoke (even second hang)
  • alcohol
  • poor food choices
  • sugar
  • vegetable oils
  • over the counter and prescription drugs

Here are some common symptoms of toxic overload:

  • weight gain
  • skin issues  – acne, eczema, discoloration, liver spots
  • hormonal imbalance
  • irritablility
  • depression
  • cancer
  • anxiety
  • low energy
  • foggy brain
  • adrenal fatigue
  • thyroid issues
  • infertility
  • hair loss
  • nausea
  • weak immune system

The list goes on. And on.

    I am focusing on being a better, healthier, version of myself. New Year, New Me!! I have been over weight for soooo long and and I want to break that habit and learn better, healthier habits, and a healthier life style. Better late than never.
    I recently got into Essential oils and am working on replacing toxins in my house. Now I have to focus on my diet.
